THE FANTASTIC MAN IS BACK!

Luaka Bop and Moog present the William Onyeabor remixes featuring covers and remixes by Hot Chip, Javelin, The Vaccines & Scientist .

The project took shape when Luaka caught rumors that Onyeabor was a Moog retailer in Nigeria. Intrigued, they reached out to Moog who began conducting research about Onyeabor. Information on him has always been scarce, but it was clear from Moog’s findings that this “fantastic man” was a tragically under-cited electronic music pioneer, whose importance to the genre should be universally recognized.

Moog and Luaka Bop have been in communication with electronic musicians, bands and DJ’s to develop a unique series of remixes and covers that would shed new light on Onyeabor’s idiosyncratic funkiness, as well as highlight his extraordinary use of Moog synthesizers.
